We recently conducted a simple water test to better demonstrate the functional properties of psyllium husk and psyllium husk powder — and the results were exactly as expected.
Unlike typical molecular solutes that completely dissolve in water, isabgol is primarily water-swellable. When mixed with water, psyllium husk absorbs liquid rapidly and forms a thick, viscous gel structure.
